Traffic collisions can claim the lives of people from all walks of life and every age group. However, there are some who face an especially high chance of being involved in an accident and there are certain dangers that are especially concerning with particular age groups. For example, young children may be struck by a vehicle in a number of ways and it is essential for parents to be aware of these risks whenever their children are near the road.

A child may be hit while walking to school or playing with friends in front of the house. Sometimes, these accidents happen because a child failed to stay off the road, but they also occur because of the negligence and carelessness of drivers. It can be especially upsetting for parents to know that their child’s life has been upended because of a reckless driver, such as someone who was drinking or ignoring their responsibilities behind the wheel.

There are other ways a child may be hit by a car as well. For example, a child may be walking around in a parking lot when they are struck by a vehicle that is trying to pull out, unable to see the child because of their height. Sadly, many young lives have been claimed as a result of pedestrian accidents and for many kids who have been able to survive, a long list of challenges have made life difficult, from injuries that make it impossible to participate in after-school activities and hobbies to financial problems for the whole family and emotional pain.
